do not do any more styling damage to your hair! mousses, gels and waxes weigh down your hair, while using tools/appliances just fry them. if you absolutely feel the need to straighten your hair, use a leave-in conditioner or styling prep cream, then allow hair to dry 80% before using a hot tool such as a straightener.

If your hair is already damaged getting it straigtened will only make things worse. Slowly get your damaged hair trimmed off and start nursing your hair back to health. Use protein treatments, keep your hair moisturized with essential oils like jojoba, rosemary, lavendar, peppermint, virgin olive oil, or even oils like Alma or Castor oil. With oils...a little goes a long way! Deep condition frequently, wash your hair with shampoo at least once a week, do conditioner washes throughout the week. Don't comb or brush your hair unnecessarily. Use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. If you want sleep on a satin pillowcase and cover your head with a satin scarf to keep your hair moisturized and to minimize breakage. Keep your ends hidden in buns and other protective styles to stop them from drying out and breaking more. I would suggest stop using heat on your hair except when blow drying, if you can air-dry your hair that will be even better. Also, consult your hair dresser on what they think you should do too.

Hi, I personally had the Chi straightening done a year ago. At first I did not like it. It was flat, after a month it started to fluff. I continued to like it, but after about six months it started to take a toll. My hair became dry and frizzy and I landed up getting it cut, because I didn't want to go through the porcess or expense again. I know two others that have had it done and they love it. Their hair was not near as curly as mine.
