Reducing frizz and volume of curly hair?

I have long, thick, curly hair that looks perfect on the outside, but underneath it is frizzy and the curls are tighter, which makes my hair poofy, so I can't wear it open and usually end up wearing it in a ponytail. I was thinking about getting it thinned. Does anyone have any tips that could help reduce the frizz underneath, and volume?

Use pantene conditioner and frizz ease it comes in a spray bottle at walmart

I have curly hair [dominican/puertorican] and I use leave in conditioner, gel, and curl activator... after you put product in don't mess with it too much or it'll fro. Also try not to was it every day, i know this is hard because it looks funky if you don't but that makes it dry and frizz more.

Thinning helps a lot , %26amp; you can also have just the back relaxed a bit...not straight, but softer curl. It makes a BIG difference. Also Polisher serum %26amp; some curl cream ,mixed in your palm, on the back %26amp; all ends is great~! :O)
