I have very curly hair and i really want to straighten my hair. I don't want to spend a lot of money!

what should i do?

i know how you feel - the avatar is accurate- it takes a while but here's what I do. First I wash my hair and comb it out in the shower. I dont let it dry- I go straight to blow drying so its easier to manage.

Make sure the blowdryer had a comb on the end- I have a Conair. Comb your hair downwards.

After your hairs dry and blow dryed add little amount of pink moisteriser so your hair wont be dry but not too greasy. Work this through out your hair until its completley mixed.

get Ceramic flat irons (they're the best for our sort of hair)- Put the temperature on the highest number- I need as much heat as I can get- then flat iron your hair in small portions.

Make sure to seprarte your hair into small portions of hair so its managable.

After finishing flat ironing- blow dry your hair again.

if still not completley flat- go another round of flat ironing. Its ALOT to do, I know.

And people say they WANT this hair- they have no idea.

buy a very good hair straightener like $50 is good enough. dont buy cheap ones like $20 because you will never be able to staighten it no matter what. conair is good and revlons are horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my conair is the best works perfect and fast!!!!!!!!!!! get one like this http://www.hair-straightener.net/images/... (the scissor looking ones) those work way better than these http://www.straight-hair.co.uk/images/gh... (these dont work as good for thick hair, its slower) mine is a conair ceramic technology and its the scissor looking one, works awesome! and remeber to never straigthen it when its wet, it will burn your hair! straigthen it after you wash your hair after it dries!

first you have to take your time and do it well if you want it to turn out good. first get about 1 in. from nape and clip the rest up. Get a good hair straightener and straighten it little piece by little piece, when you're done with the first layer unclip the top and get another layer and clip the rest up then iron that part and repeat the same steps until you reach like half of your head. then make the like and spread both sides apart clip or tie one side and do the other side piece by piece then do the other side. and then fix the imperfections and you're done! if might take about 30 minutes or more for your kind of hair.

i have a lot of hair too. my beautician says i have 3 heads of thick, curly hair. you can use a straightning iron, or a blow drier.you dont need a round brush. your hair should be damp. i dont recomend relaxing or perming your hair because it can fall out. here's a url that may help you. just copy and paste it into your address bar.

How to straighten very thick curly hair on your own?

Get the Conair Ceramic Straitener ..you can find it in target. That is what I use, and I have wavy, very thick hair.

When you straighten it, dont do all your hair at a time,, separate your hair into sections, hold the hair you are not using with a good sized clip.

Also, to keep your hair from frizzing up when your done since you have curly hair, buy the Treseme "No Firzz" spray. Located also at target..

Hope this Helps!

My hair is the same way, some god tricks are to keep ur hair dirty. Dont wash then straighten! U can also use frizz-ease, a GOOD straightener, (Conair aint gonna cut it) And just to small strands at a time with a brush, lots of people just grab a chunk of their hair and wonder y its taking so long to get that 1 part straight. Make sure its realy hot! Take ur time, it may take awhile depending on the length and thickness of ur hair.

How to straighten very thick curly hair on your own?

First use shampoo's and conditionair's for your kind of hair. EX- Protein, Suave, Sunsilk etc.

Then buy a wide straightner that can go up to a high amont of heat. Ofcourse keeping it in your budget range. EX- conair straightners, or get one at sharper image, if you have that store in your area.

Once you get the straightner put your hair up in 3 different layers so you straighten the underneath layer first, then the middle, then the top.

You might want to use a speicial cream that keeps your hair in place after you straighten it. Or just hairspray. Either one will still work good, and im sure after you do all this your hair will look great!

Good Luck! :]

How to straighten very thick curly hair on your own?

Hey, my cousin had the same problem %26amp; same with my friends sister %26amp; you don't have to spend heaps of money to get good results. The best thing would be to have a straightener that gets to a heat of over 200 degrees C (and you can get some cheap ones, try remington), then just do it in small sections %26amp; take it slowly.

i have really curly hair too and after i get out of the shower i put in this straightner gel stuff (optional just helps and protects from heat) and then i blow dry it then use my straightner on it. if u dont have one u can use a curling iron the same way as a straitner might not work as well but i suggest u buy a sraightner no more than 30 to 40 bucks no less no more just make sure it has ceramic plates or u will fry ur hair hope i helped

How to straighten very thick curly hair on your own?

well if you are looking to straighten without chemicals and looking to straighten from the root try doing a hotvomb flat iron combination. you can find most in any beaty supply stores and even walmart and the best flatiron i have ever used is the conair ceramic curling iron but make sure the hair is well moisturized , if not this could cause much damage. the chemical way would be a self relaxer kit but if you have never done this by yourself DONT!!!!!
