This may sound weird but do you think using curlers on curly hair would help define curls/make them

I have curly/ wavy/ THICK hair...do you think using curlers would help define my curls?? Or would that just be a waste of time?

To some people this may sound silly, like why would I use curlers when I have curly hair already but I am looking for ways to do my hair so I can leave it down without it becoming a frizzball/ wayyyyy pouffy!

Get your hair layered and use Garnier Fructice. I use length and strength. They have a curling gel you could use. I don't, I just spray it with water and let it dry. Don't brush it except once when it's wet.

yes, it can work well! just make sure not to put too much hair in the curlers and to use a good styling product!

I have thick, curly hair, and I used to use curlers on it. If done correctly, it will help some. However, I could never really use the curlers correctly, and my hair always ended up looking poufy. It didn't really help with the frizz, either. Using a curling iron works a little bit better. However, it is actually easier just to get a haircut that helps your hair curl better. Getting your hair layered and thinned out can help a ton. If you don't want to get your hair cut, then try to style your hair in a different way. It's always easier to style curly hair when it's wet. I always flip my air over my head and spray on a curling product (like Aussie Mega Sprunch Spray). Then I scrunch my hair while blow drying it. However, I never dry it completely, and I never brush it after scrunching it (as it makes my hair very frizzy).

If you use curlers all it really would do is straighten it out, it wouldn't really define the curls. What I do to tame the frizz is use mouse, they have curl defining mouse that helps with the frizz. This works for me and it leaves my hair soft to the touch. Some that I have used is Pantene, Suave, and Fructise. Hope this helps. Oh and no it is soo not a dilly question.

Setting your curly hair will help lay the cuticle layer down and make the hair a little more shiney and defined. Don't use a lot of hair on the iron or rollers. Make sure you use some sort of mositurizing serum and mousse on the hair prior to setting.

Professional products are always best as the don't buildup on the hair as fast and hey are formulated to build strength and elasticity within the hairshaft.

There are 2 important things to remember when you're conditioning....

1. Squeeze the excess water out of your hair before you apply the conditioner. Your hair is like a sponge. If you put a soaking wet sponge on water....it won't do anything because it's full of water. If your hair is full of water....the conditioner will go down the drain. If you put a damp sponge on water....it soaks the water up. The same thing happens with damp hair...the conditioner will go INTO the hairshaft.

2. Rinse the conditioner with lukewarm water. Luke warm to your hands...it will feel slightly cool on your head. If you use very hot water...you will open the cuticle layer and flush out all the conditiner you just put in...back down the drain. Luke warm water will rinse the excess off the outside of the hairshaft....but the inside will retain the what you put in.

Apply a thermal proctectant to the hair prior to blowdrying.

Finally finish with a moisturizing leave-in conditoner. This can be applied to wet or dry hair.

Some suggestions for product:

Loma

Hydrating Shampoo

Hydrating Conditoner

Pearitin Serum

Paul Brown Hawaii

Booster ( Thermal protectant)

You can check with a professional about other lines sold in salons. They can tell you what would be best for your hair.
