I have curly hair and i just got it cut shoulder lenght. I can get it pretty straight just by straightening it w/ a flat iron... but its still not completely there... any tips?

Straight hair starts in the shower!!
So when you take a shower, use a shampoo and conditioner made for straightening your hair ( herbal essences dangerously straight products)
After washing your hair, use some of the other products( such as mousse) , then blow dry your hair as straight as you can with a round brush.
When your down blow drying, bust out you straightening iron!!!
This should give you extremely straight hair!!

there's a lot of different kinds of creams and gels that help straighten your hair. aveda makes a product called 'hang straight', i use that and it works really well. there's also a product called 'straighten out', i also use that, but i'm not sure which company makes it.

since its summer and you shouldn't use heat i suggest getting your hair damp and than i would buy a straightner with no heat it just has soft picks it is made by conair and than use that with damp hair,.

You can use the soultions out of a perm, do it as you would if u were getting a perm , BUT with out the perm rods, You use the 1st soultion and comb it through your hair for 20 minutes, Rinse like it says if u were getting a perm , then use the 2nd soultion and do the same comb it through for 20 minutes and rinse - My mom has done it to mine and it's the only thing that lasted - if i use a iron or any straighting product as soon as i get my hair wet it was all curls again - it lasted about 3-6 months on my hair
If ur unsure of how to do it you could call a salon and ask them how much they'd charge you to do it - i'm not sure if they'd charge you the same price as if you were getting a perm or not - and some salons will cut the price if your bring in ur own product - call ahead if ur going to do it that way though and see if any will do it.

Hey, I have the same problem some times. My hair is naturally curly too, and I always use a straightener to straighten my hair. Maybe you should try using a better straightener if its not there yet and maybe use some spray that helps your hair keep straight or a tiny bit of gel. Maybe go over it with a blow dryer, that should help. But, it really depends on what straightener you use. GHD's are AMAZING and CHI's are good too. Hope That Helps!

Make sure that your flat iron is on a high heat, you will want that with curly hair. Always use some sort of heat protector first. Take smaller/thinner section when flat ironing. There are all sort of products on the market now a days for straight hair. I would go all out, buy the shampoo/ conditioner and the the spray that helps to get your hair straight.
oh, also before you flat iron, blow dry as much of the curl out as you can.
